Welcome to the St Bernard’s Learning Support Department
We believe in a fully inclusive educational environment which means that we value the abilities and achievements of all pupils and are committed to providing the best possible setting for learning. We offer a holistic approach, which means students are taught in mainstream classes with differentiated work and different learning strategies based on their additional needs and targets. The Learning Support Team works across the school in partnership with both the pastoral team and subject departments.
The Learning Support team benefits from enthusiastic and experienced staff who work with targeted students in class, as well as some personalised and small group interventions by invitation. Outside of lessons we are based in the St Helen’s Centre; available to any student who feels that they would benefit from support with their learning before school from 8.00am, at lunchtime and after school until 4.00pm.
